Operating Design
Growth doesn't stall because organizations lack vision. It stalls when the way the organization operates can no longer support the direction leadership has set.
SOVRANT partners with founders, CEOs, executive leadership teams, and boards across PE-backed firms, growth-stage organizations, and startups to design the systems, structures, and operating rhythms that strengthen execution, improve decision-making, and help organizations scale with greater clarity, accountability, and consistency.
The Structural
Problem
WHEN LEADERS BECOME THE OPERATING SYSTEM,GROWTH BECOMES HARDER THAN IT SHOULD IT BE
Organizations rarely struggle because they lack capable people, ambitious goals, or good ideas. They struggle because the way work moves through the organization no longer supports where the business is headed.
Decisions slow, teams wait for direction, and leaders become the primary point of coordination because the organization depends on them to keep work moving. Instead of focusing on strategy, leaders spend their time filling gaps, resolving bottlenecks, and carrying responsibilities the organization should be designed to handle.
As complexity increases, communication fractures, accountability blurs, execution becomes inconsistent, and progress depends more on individual effort than on how the organization is designed to operate.
These aren't isolated challenges to solve one by one. They're signals that the organization has outgrown the way it operates.
Operating Design begins by redesigning the way the organization works, creating the clarity, structure, and operating foundation leaders need to scale the business without becoming its operating system. It strengthens the conditions that allow strategy to move through the organization consistently, rather than depending on individual effort.

What Is Operating Design
Operating Design was shaped by years of solving the same underlying problem across increasingly complex organizations.
Operating Design is the work of intentionally shaping how an organization makes decisions, moves work forward, and turns strategy into results.
It shapes how decisions are made, how information moves, how accountability is shared, and how work flows across teams, creating a stronger foundation for organizations to operate with greater clarity, consistency, and confidence.
Rather than addressing challenges as isolated issues, Operating Design identifies the underlying conditions creating them, then redesigns how the organization works so those challenges stop repeating.
The question isn't whether your organization can grow, but whether the way it operates is built to grow with it.
Operational Intelligence
EVERYTHING WE DO AT SOVRANT IS GROUNDED IN OUR ETHOS OF OPERATIONAL INTELLIGENCE.
It begins with understanding before recommending solutions —understanding how people, decisions, systems, and culture interact, where friction exists, what isn't being said, and what's preventing an organization from moving forward. That understanding allows us to accurately diagnose what's really happening before deciding what needs to change.
Before an organization can move differently, it first has to understand what's shaping the way it moves today. That's the role of Operational Intelligence. It reveals the patterns, dynamics, and operating conditions that determine how work moves through the organization, creating the insight needed to design meaningful change.
We believe technology should strengthen how organizations operate, not replace the human judgment and leadership that make them effective. That's the lens we bring to emerging technologies, including agentic AI.

HOW SOVRΛNT WORKS
Every organization is different, but our approach begins the same way: understanding how the organization actually works before recommending what should change.
When a deeper assessment is needed, our Operating Diagnostic provides a structured understanding of how decisions are made, how work moves, where friction exists, and what's preventing the organization from operating the way leadership intends.
The insights we gather become the foundation for every engagement, helping us design the structure, operating systems, governance, and ways of working that best support the organization's goals.
Our objective isn't to deliver another set of recommendations. It's to build the operating foundations organizations need to navigate growth, change, and increasing complexity.
Every engagement begins with understanding the organization as it is, so we can design it for where it's going.
SIGNATURE ENGAGEMENTS
Every organization faces different challenges, but the underlying goal is the same: creating an operating environment that supports stronger decisions, healthier organizations, and sustainable growth.
SOVRANT's Signature Engagements Address Four of the Most Consequential Moments in an Organization's Evolution
EXPLORE OTHER WAYS TO ENGAGE
Finding the Right Approach
While each Signature Engagement addresses a distinct organizational need, they are designed to work together when appropriate. ORGANIZATIONAL VELOCITY DESIGN focuses on how work moves through the organization, strengthening the systems, structures, and ways of working that support execution. GOVERNANCE ARCHITECTURE focuses on how leadership governs the organization, strengthening decision rights, oversight, accountability, and governance structures.
Organizations often begin with one engagement and expand into others as priorities evolve and new needs emerge. When appropriate, the Operating Diagnostic helps clarify where additional work will create the greatest value.
ENGAGEMENT OPTIONS
Every leader and organization is different, and so is the way we work together. While Signature Engagements address defined operating challenges, some needs call for a more focused or customized partnership.
Whether through a Signature Engagement or a customized engagement, every partnership is designed to strengthen the operating environment leaders need to navigate growth, complexity, and change.

Meet The Founder
MANAZ BAPTISTE
Founder & Principal
For more than 20 years, I found myself solving the same underlying challenge across different organizations. Leadership knew where the organization needed to go, but the organization wasn't built to get there. Years of solving that challenge became Operating Design.
Harvard, UPenn, and Wharton-trained, my approach has been shaped by more than two decades working inside organizations, partnering directly with leaders to solve real operating challenges. Operating Design merges organizational psychology, governance, systems thinking, instructional design, relational intelligence, emerging technology, and practical operating experience into a methodology designed around how people, organizations, and technology actually work together.
Most organizations don't struggle because leaders lack vision. They struggle because the organization was never intentionally designed to support that vision. Operating Design gives leaders the operating infrastructure they need to execute with consistency, adapt with confidence, and build organizations capable of sustaining execution as they grow.
That's the work I continue to build through SOVRANT.
And what I build stays.

As organizations grow, the way they operate becomes just as important as the strategy behind them. Operating Design helps leaders spend less time coordinating work and more time moving it forward.
That's the work I continue to build through SOVRANT.
